Abu Samrah is a small settlement in southern Qatar, located near the border with Saudi Arabia in the arid interior of the Qatari peninsula. The area sits within the municipality of Al Rayyan, though it lies well inland from the coastal urban centres that dominate much of the country. Travellers staying in this region would find themselves surrounded by the characteristic desert landscape of Qatar, with flat gravel plains and scattered low limestone hills stretching toward the horizon.
