Byblos Comfort Hotel
فندقAbout Byblos
Byblos sits on the Mediterranean coast of Lebanon, north of Beirut, and ranks among the oldest continuously inhabited cities in the world. The ancient Phoenician port grew around a natural harbor sheltered by rocky headlands, and layers of human settlement here stretch back thousands of years. The old town clusters around a Crusader castle built from stones reused from earlier Roman and Phoenician structures, with narrow stone streets winding past traditional souks and seafood restaurants. Nearby, the ancient site includes Phoenician royal tombs cut into rock, the remains of temples, and a Roman theater facing the sea. The city also holds a modern marina filled with fishing boats and pleasure craft, plus a growing number of cafés and bars along the waterfront. Visitors staying in the area find themselves within easy reach of the Jeita Grotto inland and the mountain towns of the Keserwan district above the coast. The surrounding coastline offers public beaches and rocky coves for swimming.
